If by travel escort you mean a professional who accompanies you during sightseeing, tours, business travel, or other travel activities, it is important to verify their identity, experience, services, and booking terms before paying.
Here are some practical steps:
- Check their profile and experience: Look for information about their previous travel work, local knowledge, languages, and the types of trips they regularly handle.
- Read genuine reviews: Look for detailed and recent feedback about punctuality, communication, professionalism, reliability, and overall customer experience.
- Verify identity and business details: Check whether their name, business information, professional profile, and contact details can be independently confirmed.
- Discuss the itinerary: Clearly explain your destinations, dates, activities, transportation needs, and the type of assistance you expect.
- Confirm availability: Make sure they are available for the entire agreed period and understand the schedule before confirming the booking.
- Ask for a complete price: Confirm hourly or daily rates, travel expenses, transportation, accommodation if applicable, and any additional charges.
- Use written booking terms: Have the agreed services, timings, fees, cancellation conditions, and responsibilities documented before making payment.
- Protect your personal information: Share only the information necessary for the booking and avoid sending sensitive documents unless there is a legitimate and secure reason.
- Meet in a safe public location: For a first meeting, choose a busy, well-known place and let someone you trust know your itinerary and contact details.
- Check communication: A professional should answer questions clearly and be willing to discuss your expectations before accepting the booking.
Avoid making a decision based only on a profile photo, very low price, or a few positive reviews. Comparing experience, reviews, identity verification, services, communication, pricing, and booking terms can help you make a safer and more informed choice for your Melbourne trip.
